The Dawson Wind Farm is a proposed renewable energy project, co-located immediately south of the Banana Range Wind Farm approximately 20km west of Biloela in the Banana Shire Local Government Area (LGA) of Queensland. The Dawson Wind Farm is in its early stages of development by EDF power solutions Australia, while the Banana Range Wind Farm is approved but undertaking a Social Impact Assessment (SIA) to align with the newly released Queensland (QLD) SIA Guidelines.
What is a Social Impact Assessment?
SIA is an approach to predicting and assessing the likely social consequences of a proposed project and developing strategies to reduce negative social impacts or enhance positive social impacts associated with a project. The SIA for each project is being prepared by Umwelt, a specialist environmental and social consultancy.
How can I get involved and provide my feedback on the Project?
EDF power solutions, together with members of the Umwelt team, are in the process of contacting relevant local and state government agencies, local residents, and community group representatives to better understand community views and perspectives in relation to the Projects to inform the SIA’s. We invite you to attend our upcoming information sessions where you can meet with the EDF power solutions and Umwelt teams, ask questions, learn about the Projects and provide feedback that will further inform the development of the SIAs and subsequent social impact management.
You can also complete the SIA community survey by scanning the QR code or visiting: www.research.net/r/EDF-SIA-Survey

Community Information Sessions
We are holding two community information sessions about the Projects. You are welcome to drop in to ask any questions you might have about the Projects or the SIA.
