The EDF Renewables Australia team is passionate about working with local communities and the development of sustainable renewable energy projects.
We are committed to regular, open and transparent community consultation and will continue to engage with the Banana and Biloela communities throughout the life of the project.
Community Consultation Committee
The project has held several community information sessions in Banana and Biloela for all interested stakeholders. As the project gets closer to the start of construction, a Community Consultation Committee (CCC) will be formally established to provide a structured, regular forum for open discussion between community representatives, local council, the project team, and other stakeholders.
Being a member of the CCC will be voluntary and members will have nominated themselves for the role.
Community Benefits Fund
EDF Renewables Australia will develop a community fund of $100,000 per year from the start of construction and through the wind farm’s operational life. The fund will provide financial support for community-based initiatives and projects that produce lasting community benefits and reflect local priorities.
The CCC will advise how these funds are distributed to ensure maximum community benefits. Initiatives could include:
Community Building
Solar or Energy Improvements
Training and Education
Rural Fire Service Equipment Upgrades
Telecommunications Upgrades
Tourist Facilities
Contributing to the Local Economy
EDF Renewables Australia is committed to maximising the opportunities and benefits for the local community. This means jobs for locals, opportunities for local contractors and service providers and community support.
Local opportunities to get involved in the supply of goods or services during the construction and operational phases include:
Plant and Equipment Hire
Road Construction
Excavation and Earthmoving
Trenching
Concrete Batching and Supply
Electrical Contracting
Cranage
Steel Fixing
Logistics
Electrical Works
Accommodation and Food Providers
If you are interested in contract opportunities please complete the form below. Where services will be provided to major specialised contractors, your expression of interest will be passed on and EDF Renewables Australia will ensure that all such expressions of interest are fully and duly evaluated by the major specialised contractors.
